Daily Lives of Children in Ananda Shelter Home for Children
The journey of Ekmattra’s Ananda Shelter Home for Children at Mirpur started in 2004 with12 children from the Open Sky School. These children required a safe home that would prevent them from the hazardous conditions on the streets of Dhaka and a shelter with available basic amenities. EKMATTRA Children home is dedicated by all means to ensure a prospective future to these children within a space of care and a homely environment

At present, Ekmattra’s Ananda Shelter Home for Children accommodates a few children who are waiting to be transferred to Haluaghat’s Academy for a permanent support. Here, the newly arrived children are provided with basic needs—life skill education, foods, clothes, and accommodation. We are also keen to grow cultural understanding among our children by encouraging them to learn various skills, such as: music, poetry, drama, handicraft making, drawing, dance and other art practices.

Activities:
  • Bring children to the shelter home to secure their lives from the challenges of the street
  • Prepare them for a residential school life in Haluaghat
  • Maintain a partnership with friendly organizations, Utsho Bangladesh, Angel Association and Bharateswari Homes
  • These partner organizations have received children from Ekmattra’s OSS

You are the Concerned Guardian!

You possess the guardianship of the Ekmattra’s Ananda Children’s home. As a Concerned Guardian of a child, this scheme provides you an opportunity to participate in our activities and contribute to the development of the society. It also offers the children a privilege of having someone to take care of their needs. The child and the guardian grow an amiable relationship with the exchanges of regular greetings and communication.

There is a fixed and essential sum required for the children per month. The money is spent in accommodation, food, health and medicine, clothes, education, and recreational activities. A total amount of taka 4,000 (Four Thousand Only) is required for a child to ensure his or her needs for a month.

We request you to extend your hand and be a concerned guardian of a deprived child!
